Mr. Moore of Alabama (for himself, Ms. Fedorchak, Mr. Rulli, Mr. Hurd of Colorado, and Mr. Rose) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce
To amend the Clean Air Act to exclude a portable fuel container from the definition of a consumer or commercial product, and for other purposes.
Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Freedom to Fuel Act
.
Sec. 2. Portable fuel container exclusion
Section 183(e)(1)(B) of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7511b(e)(1)(B)) is amended—
(1)
in the first sentence, by striking The term
and inserting the following:
(i) In general
The term; and
(2)
by striking the second sentence and inserting the following:
(ii) Exclusions
The term consumer or commercial product does not include the following:
(I)
A portable fuel container.
(II)
A fuel or fuel additive regulated under section 211.
(III)
A motor vehicle, non-road vehicle, or non-road engine as defined under section 216.
