Ms. Pou introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, and in addition to the Committee on Homeland Security, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
To limit certain Federal Funding used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Protecting License-plate Access for Transparency and Enforcement Act
or the PLATE Act

Sec. 2. Limitation on use of funds by u.s. immigration and customs enforcement
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any Federal funds made available to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the Customs and Border Protection to purchase, lease, rent, or otherwise use privately-owned or government-owned vehicles to carry out any civil immigration enforcement activities under the immigration laws (as such term is defined in section 101 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101)), shall require U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or the Customs and Border Protection to display the license plate of each vehicle on the outside of each vehicle at all times in a manner that is visible to the public.
