Mr. Murphy (for himself, Mr. Panetta, Mr. Joyce of Pennsylvania, Ms. Schrier, Mrs. Miller-Meeks, Mr. Krishnamoorthi, Ms. Tenney, Mr. Ruiz, Mrs. Miller of West Virginia, Mr. Bera, Mr. Van Drew, Mr. Harris of Maryland, and Mr. McCormick) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and in addition to the Committee on Ways and Means, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to increase support for physicians and other practitioners in adjusting to Medicare payment changes.
Section 1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025
.
Sec. 2. Increasing support for physicians and other practitioners in adjusting to Medicare payment changes
(a) In general
Section 1848(t) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395w–4(t)) is amended—
(1)
in the header, by striking 2024
and inserting 2025
; and
(2)
in paragraph (1)—
(A)
in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024
and inserting 2021 through 2025
;
(B)
in subparagraph (D), by striking and
at the end;
(C)
in subparagraph (E), by striking the period and inserting ; and
; and
(D)
by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:
(F)
such services furnished on or after April 1, 2025, and before January 1, 2026, by 6.62 percent.
(b) Conforming amendment
Section 1848(c)(2)(B)(iv)(V) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395w–4(c)(2)(B)(iv)(V)) is amended by striking 2021, 2022, 2023, or 2024
and inserting any of years 2021 through 2025
