A BILL

To allow the U.S. Marshals Service to assist in certain Tribal criminal matters, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the Tribal Warrant Fairness Act.

Sec. 2. Amendments

(a) U.S. Marshals Service

Section 566(e)(1) of title 28, United States Code, is amended—

(1)

in subparagraph (B), by inserting including Tribal fugitive matters (on the request of an Indian Tribe, as applicable), after matters,; and

(2)

in subparagraph (D), by inserting Tribal, after local,.

(b) Presidential Threat Protection Act of 2000

Section 6 of the Presidential Threat Protection Act of 2000 (34 U.S.C. 41503) is amended—

(1)

in subsection (a)—

(A)

by inserting and Indian Tribes after components; and

(B)

by striking and local and inserting local, and Tribal; and

(2)

in subsection (c), by striking Federal or State law and inserting Federal, State, or Tribal law.
